Abstract:
This work presents a case study of application of various digital technologies for the improvement of theoretical and practical teaching in an optative subject of physical nature in the Architecture Studies at the University of Granada (Spain). Given the current profile of the students, many of them with low or no previous knowledge in physics at university level, the teaching of a subject in this field is a challenge and requires motivating elements and incentives for the participation of students during the classes. For this purpose, the lecturers of this discipline have opted for synchronous teaching using a combination of different digital technologies. On the one hand, the Google Meet tool has been used for theoretical teaching as well as for classes devoted to resolution of exercises. The latter have been developed in combination with the Jamboard virtual blackboard. On the other hand, the video-calling space tool known as Gather Town has been used to carry out virtual practices, allowing the two-way interactions required at the student-student and student-lecturer level. Finally, the set of digital technologies has been completed with Kahoot, a game-based learning platform tool that allows for reinforcing theoretical-practical concepts. This work collects the experiences lived during the Covid-19 era.
