Abstract:
This paper seeks to clarify the relationship between cognitive flexibility while mental process and the functioning of intelligence. For this purpose it was developed and validated a measuring test of the construct as follows: Performance Test of the Cognitive Flexibility. The test, studied a sample of 603 Portuguese University students, complies with the recommendations of the AERA, APA & NMCE (1999) in terms of the general principles of psychological assessment and, in particular psychometric criteria that support the accuracy and validity of the results in the instruments used. Predictive studies point to the possibility of cognitive flexibility may be a predictor of intelligent behavior, which seem to be relevant in explaining the performance in different academics and professional contexts. Keywords:
