Abstract:
The use of seminars as a complement to master classes at the University has shown that it is well accepted, both by students and teachers. With seminars, the usual teacher's teaching routine is broken, attempting to attract the attention of the students. Seminars have greater impact when the focus of the seminar is practical and applied, based on the experiences and comments of the speaker, and generating debate and discussions between the speaker and students.
In the present study, starting from a delivery project of three job-searching focused seminars to final year students of a University Degree, a satisfaction questionnaire is constructed through which the aim is to obtain feedback from the students about its usefulness, adequacy, and proposals for improvement. Due to the fact that they are final year students, the three seminars are proposed to be linked to the choice of their future profession. Likewise, the study is aligned with the strategy commonly accepted by Universities to strengthen the link between university education and the projection that students can make of the impact of their future profession on the SDGs of the UN 2030 Agenda.
As the conclusions of the study it seems clear that the practical approach for seminars is indeed the most valued by the students, being critical the choice of an appropriate speaker, with exquisitely careful temporal and content planning. The format (in-person vs. online) chosen for the delivery of the seminar is also key to the success of the initiative, although the students put the choice of a good speaker first even if logistics prevent them from being present and then a delivery remote is a must instead of a need. Finally, it is confirmed that students have acquired greater awareness about the SDGs through this type of initiatives than through traditional training sessions. Keywords:
