Abstract:
One of the most ambitious initiatives that Humanity has faced, within the UN's 2030 Agenda, is the awareness of all actors about the need to achieve a more sustainable planet through the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The protection of the Environment, the search for more equitable and safer personal and professional environments, the reduction of inequalities, are at the forefront of the aspirations to achieve a more supportive, fair, and sustainable world. The achievement of these SDGs depends on that each one of us citizens act in our daily lives with diligence and extreme care so as not to lose sight of them, for which awareness is essential from the earliest stages of live. During studies at the University, often the last stage prior to professional development, students receive formal training that equips them to practice the profession, but it is increasingly recognized that this training must be complemented with the acquisition of soft skills.
The current study proposes, after contextualizing the relevance and need to make the SDGs known to students at this university stage, a plan for delivering seminars focused on providing soft skills and criteria to choose future profession, not only based on their skills but also based on the impact that this future profession can have on the SDGs. The three axes proposed for this seminar plan are: the future of work in the present and future environment, the use of tools to improve employability, and the comparative analysis of the different types of target companies. The present study, whose purpose is the design of a work plan based on previous studies developed within the Universitat Politècnica de València, aims to be the starting point for a series of practical projects in which it is intended to identify which initiatives promote a greater impact of professional practice on the SDGs.Keywords:
