Abstract:
The university degree studies end in its first phase with the completion of a scientific research work called Final Degree Project (FDP), whose purpose is that each student demonstrates in a reliable and applied way that he has acquired the competences of the studies college that he just completed. That is why it is assumed as logical and normal that the FDPs of the students are directly related to some of the subjects studied in the University Degree.
In the case of the University Degrees already established and with many years of existence and tradition, there is usually a wide variety of FDPs available to the student, already presented and evaluated as suitable, in the documentary repositories of the University in which they have been developed. This is not the case in the case of newly created University Degrees, in which the first class of students graduating at the end of their studies does not have said repository as a reference.
In the present study, it is detailed how the first students graduating from a new University Degree have been provided with the necessary tools to choose and develop valid topics for the FDP of each of these students.
It is concluded that indeed the handicap of being the first promotion is the lack of valid references, but that it can be overcome with an orderly and systemic evaluation of the most representative subjects of the Degree, together with the personal interests of the student, together with privileged access to information from a company or operating entity, and also together with an initial diagnosis of the members of the corresponding Academic Commission. These factors prove to be the key for the FDP proposal of these students to be valid, interesting, and valuable in itself. Keywords:
