Abstract:
The study has revealed that teachers, while acknowledging the importance of the knowledge on healthy lifestyle, emphasise that, when developing health competences in children at school, only theoretical knowledge is not sufficient, it is extremely important to involve them in interactive activities, during which children would develop health friendly skills, habits and value-oriented attitudes in a focused manner.

The objective of the study is to reveal the application of interactive activities when developing health competences in pupils of 5-10th forms. Qualitative research type was chosen for the study. In the study, the method of a semi-structured interview was used. 14 pedagogues participated in the study.

The study has established that, when developing health competences in pupils, interactive activities are applied by teachers, form tutors, social pedagogues, psychologists, healthcare specialists. Not only members of the school community, but also the community, in which the school is situated, are engaged in interactive activities. By means of this approach, it is ensured that children would observe the examples of health-friendly behaviour at home, school and in their community.

When developing health competences in pupils, interactive activities are applied by teachers while leading lessons in a classroom and outside the school and while performing project activity. Form tutors apply interactive activities when developing health competences in pupils during a class meetings, excursions and, various school events. Social pedagogues and psychologists, when developing health competences in pupils, conduct interactive workshops while performing prevention and postvention activities.
