Abstract:
Considering the technological advances and the popularization of mobile devices as smartphones and tablets, there is a need for adopting those devices in educational settings - especially for undergraduate students - providing mobility with learning-related changes in the school. In the area of Chemistry Education, in addition to the mobility, it is expected that such devices provide learning situations previously restricted, as, for example, the high cost software. In this context, the full version of this article presents some results of a research of qualitative and quantitative nature that aims to understand the contribution of mobile devices (tablets, smartphones) and their application to the teaching and learning processes in Chemistry from the perspective of mobile learning and BYOD (bring own your device) in initial teacher training. The research presents a digital technological profile of some future Chemistry teachers, some applications for tablets and smartphones with potential for Chemistry Education and a complementary activity proposal as well as its development, which has already been offered in pre-service teacher education in the perspective of mobile learning and BYOD.
