Abstract:
This paper examines multiple published source articles that provide different approaches of plagiarism detection and prevention. Our Department of Software Engineering, “Data Structures” course lectors struggle with increased plagiarism attempts in student homework submission, therefore reliable plagiarism identification approach is required. The research of this problem solution started from the very beginning – existing solution evaluation based on our “Data Structures” course programming assessment corpus. Different authors proposed different approaches, so general code and whole assessment plagiarism metrics have been developed. Our paper results suggest that none of the article researches managed to provide concrete plagiarism identification method or strategy that would address this issue. Our further research will be focused on complete solution for this problem – abstract syntax tree and source code meta-model generation, comparison and metric weight system development for assessment similarity estimation.
