Abstract:

Chernogolovka is the Scientific center of Russian Academy of Sciense located 50 km from Moscow consisting of 12 scientific institutions. Modern research requires ability not only to have access to scientific equipment, but also to modern computer technologies. Computations and data storage are the most frequenlty mentioned as a part of GRID applications. But GRID technology in well beyond the computations and storage. A recently build business incubator in Chernogolovka provides access for local scientiest to new video conferencing facilities build on top of GRID infrastructure. This technology allows researches to integrate both video, audio and scientific equipment into one system and colloborate with each other over the Internet.
