Abstract:
Recent research emphasizes on the ability of teachers to be content creators in the context of technology enabled learning. Research suggest that developing novel practices in authentic environment is a prerequisite for teacher’s professional development. At the same time, teachers are being called upon to become creators of digital content. This study focuses on the learning experiences of trainee teachers as they engage in creation of digital content. Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) provides a framework for describing and targeting the use of technology to enhance learning. This study uses at the use of TIM framework to understand how teachers engage in a technology-enabled classroom when developing digital content. The 30 participants in this study were enrolled in full-time and part-time course. Data was obtained from narratives from the teachers which were then analysed using qualitative data analysis methods. The results of the suggest that design and development of digital content promoted active learning, constructive learning, authentic learning and goal-directed learning.
