Abstract:
In recent years, universities in Spain have undergone a significant transformation in their teaching methods and educational models, driven by technological advances and the need to enhance the quality of learning. In this context, Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands out as one of the most prominent innovations of the present day. AI not only provides opportunities for new pedagogical tools but also exerts a direct influence on contemporary teaching practices. Within this emerging landscape, the academic community has begun to express concern regarding the inappropriate use of Artificial Intelligence tools by students. This issue has generated growing interest in scholarly literature, particularly in relation to the integration of AI into the university environment. Nevertheless, the actual impact of Artificial Intelligence on education remains an open question and a matter of ongoing debate. Against this backdrop, the present paper seeks to examine this impact through a specific case of AI implementation in the classroom. To this end, a teaching activity based on Artificial Intelligence was designed and applied, comparing student learning outcomes in sessions conducted both with and without AI. The findings indicate that the group supported by AI not only internalised theoretical concepts more effectively but also applied them more appropriately in a practical case study. Consequently, under the particular conditions in which this trial was undertaken, the AI-enhanced activity enabled students to consolidate their knowledge more effectively, yielding superior results in the assessments. Keywords:
