Abstract:
The relationship between the educational-training context and work has been urged from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Public policies and White Paper of the European Union indicate the need to train for employment by promoting employability and the use of this relationship as an instrument against unemployment. Due to this fact, universities have provided specific services for counseling and employability promotion. This is a highly relevant way of developing the employability of university students even if it is not sufficient for its promotion. It is necessary to combine these actions with teaching methodologies in classrooms with specific training design and activities. In this sense, this paper aims to present an adaptation of the employability assessment EAS method (http://bancodepatentes.gva.es/es) in order for it to be used in the training design of the subject 'Conflict and Negotiation Techniques'. This method is based on the bioecological conception of employability that conceives employability as a meta-competence that considers a person, his/her circumstances, and a context. The methodology for the development of employability that is proposed goes beyond the concrete methodological actions and refers to the elaboration of an educational action program included in the different training itineraries designed for the training action. Therefore, the actions to be carried out take into account the principles of rationality, continuity, univocity, semantic comprehension, flexibility, variety, realism, and participation that all university training proposals should have. The results obtained show that this method has proved to be ideal for inclusion as a methodological training strategy in the individualized training itineraries of this subject. It is a training proposal that integrates transversal employability training through techniques and activities based on the diversity of student’s characteristics and the demands that require the acquisition of new competencies. Thus, this study aims to adapt the EAS method as a teaching methodology to the different training itineraries in which the subject is designed, and to implement and evaluate this innovative teaching-learning methodology.
