Abstract:
This article shows the results and analysis of a study conducted on a sample of university-level students regarding the perception, advantages, and disadvantages of the teaching-learning process concerning a subject through a platform known as a system for learning management (LMS), specifically, Blackboard Ultra (Bb Ultra). The learning modalities experienced by the students were asynchronous and remote. The first method had, the students review and complete activities in each of the goals on their own time. The teacher then reviews, evaluates, and provides feedback to the student. The second method allows for the student and teacher to agree on a specified date and time to perform the activities and exercises in real time. Like the first method, the teacher would review, grade, and provide feedback to the student. The survey concluded that students found synchronous classes to be too straining both mentally and physically in the current pandemic. They majority stated to prefer a blended learning modality. From the results, 60 % of students surveyed have a “good” to “fair” perception of the asynchronous classes. 71% have a “good” to “excellent” perception of the synchronous courses. 81.4% consider the content and development of the synchronous courses from “good” to “fair” while 79% assume that content is from “right” to “appropriate”.
