Abstract:
The University of Alicante, in the academic year 2010/2011 and within the European Higher Education Reform, begins to provide the degree of Advertising and PR with an annual subject divided into two semesters: Fundamentals of Communication I and II (given in fourth months in the previous system under the title "Introduction to Social Communication").
In order to adapt to new approaches of the European Space, faculty teaching this course, three years ago, made changes in the methodology of evaluation of the material to be gradually adapted to Bologna protocol. Thus, the subject has innovative assessment methods to make an overall assessment of all subjects involved: students and faculty.
Through practical credits, different exercises are conducted: written tests and oral exposure. Self-assessment test are added, through Virtual Campus where the student know immediately the score and the responses, thus promoting competition based on independent learning. The evaluation and self-promoting proposals are continuous learning methods that promote development of education globally, and some formative feedback processes that allows teacher to redirect student learning processes.
