Abstract:
This document focuses on the course of Packaging of the Design Engineering Master of the Higher Technical School of Design Engineering of the Valencia Polytechnic University taught between 2007 and 2008 for the first time. The main goal of the script is to present the teaching experience and methodology, to value the results and to consider possible changes to be included in the next years.
The main purposes of the course are to transmit students a basic methodology for the developing of a packaging project and to promote their creativity in packaging design.
In order to achieve this goal the subject is divided in two parts: theoretical contents about packaging graphic design and project development. This project takes up the largest part of the subject and consists in the creation of a graphic redesign from an existing package and the design of this package for another product different than the original.
