Abstract:
The graphic presentation of information has acquired great importance in education, with infographics being considered an essential tool in teaching due to its explanatory and facilitating nature of communication, enhancing a better understanding of the content. The main objective of this paper is to present an overview on the use of infographics in schoolbooks and their importance in the construction of the respective teaching materials. If, on the one hand, technologies allow the diversification of didactic contents, enhancing innovation in teaching and learning methods, on the other hand, they allow the improvement of schoolbooks through visual communication, optimizing pedagogical strategies. With this investigation, we seek to classify and quantify the existing infographics in schoolbooks adopted, in the academic year 2020/21, for the 9th year, in the subject of History. The results intend to show how infographics are used in schoolbooks, highlighting the facilitating role they play in understanding and perceiving learning materials.
