Abstract:
This paper presents the results obtained in the last two academic years using new methodologies and technologies, in the subject of Cooling Systems. A pilot experience studies in Industrial Engineering, in Mechanical specialty, has started in order to adapt to the European Higher Education Area the studies of engineering in the University of Jaén.
This has been done with a small group of students, being the starting point the traditional teaching methods combined with the versatility and potential of new technologies. This teaching experience is based on a complete system of e-learning developed in the University of Jaén, which allowed the student to work individually and anywhere.
A program has been developed to simulate the behavior of cooling systems in the laboratory. Through this e-learning program, students can learn which elements make up this type of systems and how they work. Thus, students will be previously familiar with this type of systems, in order to get a better use of the test at the laboratory. Implementation of these practices reinforces the concepts learned and it is a real contact with simulation software. The link between theoretical concepts and actual situations facilitates learning because students can visualize the concepts being studied.
