Abstract:
In the framework of the European Space for Higher Education, since last year the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) has a program about online learning called “Plan de Acción Docencia en Red”. The aim of this program is to promote the use of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) at the university. In this way, teachers have the possibility to make digital material for teaching. Later, the university has a platform on the web (PoliformaT) where the teachers and the students can swap this material.

In this paper, we present our experience about the use of the ITC in Mathematics subject at the school of Architecture in Valencia. This experience has two steps. The first one started last year when we made several Learning Objects (LO) which offer a new conceptualization of the teaching-learning process: they provide smaller, self-contained, re-usable digital units of learning. We are using LO as a complementary material to the usual lectures. This project was a success. The students asked us for more material of this kind because it was a helpful in their self-learning. At this point we made a study of this material and its influence over the teaching-learning process in mathematics [1]. As a result we decided to participate in the program of the UPV about online learning again and the second step of the experience started. We have created new different digital material using a different kind of media and technologies: printed, audio, video, vitual laboratory, etc. The aim of this work is to describe this material, its use and we also present some conclusions involving this experience.
