Abstract:
Technological and Internet services developments occurred in the last decade have significantly changed the processes of teaching and learning. Living in exponential times and in an information society, we believe that the concept of lifelong learning, millennium learner enables teacher and students to take part of a new learning experiences as well as helping to develop the education and training sector. This paper examined and reports a study that was carried out on the effective use of Web 2.0 tools in Higher Education by teachers. The main goal of the research was to perceive the knowledge, importance, attitude and level of familiarity face web 2.0 based upon a survey of 129 teachers. Positive opinions of teachers show that the use of the e-learning environment within Web 2.0 tools brings a new dimension to distance learning. Statistical analysis of the results of the study also indicates that teachers believe that web 2.0 tools have significant potential as an innovative process learning with the advantage of communicate and collaborate with their students. However, there were statically differences in teacher’s attitudes towards specific aspects of the necessity of future training, such as preferences for e-learning platforms in reverse of Web 2.0 tools or pedagogical methods.
