Abstract:
The use of new technologies in teaching activities with pupils is an increasingly preferred means of education. Teaching, with the help of these technologies, is much more animated than in the classic one, the activities become much more creative, attractive and interactive. Among the new technologies that can be used in the classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic, G Suite was preferred by both teachers and students. The research was conducted on a sample of 122 people, teachers, principals, and pupils, selected from two schools, rural area, Dâmbovița county, Romania. The methods and data collection tools were: survey-based questionnaires and interviews, both for teachers and pupils. The integration of new technologies in education is beneficial. They greatly stimulate the intellectual potential, highlighting the creative abilities of students bringing an extra novelty to each activity taught. During the COVID-19 pandemic, remote discussions, group activities, online virtual classes, collaborative sessions were successfully used. Teachers showed flexibility, adaptability but did not have all the necessary means for quality learning. It was found, during the forced online learning, that the Google Suite for Education application package offers all the possibilities for collaboration and learning. The paper presents the quantitative and qualitative studies that were made, together with the analysis of the results and its conclusions. The results of this research provide insights into the opinions of teachers, principals, and pupils regarding the use of new technologies in secondary school, in the teaching / learning process before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Keywords:
