Abstract:
ICT in pre-school education is not a novelty. Preschool children are already familiar with new technologies since family activities. ICT is used more an more in the teaching / learning process in the preschool education. This article highlights the role of ICT in the educational process in Romanian kindergartens. The research was conducted on a sample of 145 people (teachers and parents) selected from four kindergartens, Bucharest, Romania. The methods and data collection tools were: survey-based questionnaire and interview. It has been found that new technologies can be used in preschools, in all activities, in experiential fields and freely chosen activities, but are also used in mathematical activities, environmental awareness and language education. Educators can introduce these new technologies at any time of the lesson, for understanding some notions, for consolidating knowledge, in formative assessment, but also when preschools give signs of fatigue or lack of attention. The paper presents the quantitative and qualitative studies that were made, together with the analysis of the results and its conclusions. The results of this research provide insights into the opinions of teachers and students regarding the use of new technologies in the preschool teaching / learning process.
