Abstract:
The article is devoted to the theoretical and methodological substantiation of modern trends in the formation of the labor force in the youth segment of the labor market. The empirical base of the study is the data conducted by the author in September 2018 of student youth in Russia. The sample size was 1,750 students of higher educational institutions of the humanities in more than 20 cities of Russia. Also, the empirical base of the research is previously obtained data in the framework of the author's research for the period 2000-2010. The aim of the study is the need to determine the significance of higher education for the formation of value and professional competences of modern Russian youth. It is important to clarify the current trends in the formation of the labor force in accordance with the needs of the labor market. The problem of youth unemployment is one of the most significant in the youth segment of the labor market, and in this connection, the task of the study is to identify the existing problem points in the system of vocational training for young people with a view to their further effective employment. Research methods: economic and mathematical modeling of existing trends in the relationship of the system of vocational training for young people of Russia and the effectiveness of their inclusion in the youth segment of the labor market.

The practical significance of the study: a methodological substantiation of the role of the system of higher professional education in changing the efficiency of employment at the level of the youth segment of labor market in Russia.
