METHODOLOGICAL PROPOSAL FOR THE INCORPORATION OF ICT IN THE MATHEMATICS CURRICULUM IN RURAL CONTEXT

Abstract:
The University of Córdoba, located in Colombia, is committed to contributing to regional development by developing mathematical competencies through a methodological proposal based on the scientific contributions of neuroscience, meaningful learning, gamification, and information and communication technologies (ICT). This proposal was built on a study of the most relevant theoretical frameworks on these topics and the authors' experience in the use of ICT applied to education. The methodology was applied in 9 educational institutions in different municipalities of the Córdoba department by trained teachers, using a structured module and the training received from the research unit. To determine the level of impact of this proposal, pre- and post-evaluations were conducted. After systematizing the information, it can be concluded that there was an improvement in the results obtained by the students. Regarding mathematics teachers in educational institutions, a significant number of them had their first encounter with the use of ICT as a support for the teaching-learning process, generating a positive impact and a genuine interest in incorporating them as part of their methodological strategies.
