Abstract:
It has been substantiated the necessity of the development of school camps in the system “Education for the sustainable development of society”. It has been analyzed the process of formation of general research skills among students in the period of school camps, taking into account the principles of sustainable development of society and the individual characteristics of adolescents. Considered winter and summer school camps on environmental-chemical and engineering areas for students of secondary school. The system-activity pedagogical approach is justified, which allows to identify the pedagogical conditions for the formation of common research skills in a school camp. The characteristics of the concepts of "competence", "general research skills", "case studies", "quests" in the context of the principles of sustainable development of society are given. It has been revealed the pedagogical potential of school specialized camps. The school camp is considered as a complex integrated system of innovative active learning, involving the use of the principles of problem-based learning and sustainable development, the formation of skills of generalization and the application of theoretical knowledge to solve real environmental problems and work in research groups. It has been identified and theoretically justified the pedagogical conditions of the general research skills formation of students in school camps; taking into account the age characteristics of students in developing didactic games in the form of quests and creating a positive psycho-emotional background; the use of the system of problem-oriented case studies of environmental, chemical and engineering orientation; organization of joint activities of school teachers and university lecturers in conducting trainings and master classes with demonstration of research activities, as well as chemical experiments to increase motivation for research. The essence of the second pedagogical condition is that the educational material is given to students in the form of problems (cases), and knowledge and research skills are acquired as a result of active creative work. A didactic experiment on the formation of general research skills was carried out during three shifts in school environmental-chemical and engineering camps with day stay. For organizational and coordination work with older adolescents, activists of public organizations were involved (“Volunteers-medics”, “Volunteers of Victory”). It has been presented case assignments and quests that involve the use of the principles of problem-based learning and the sustainable development of society. Specialized programs for additional education of schoolchildren in school camps have been developed. Their experimental approbation has shown positive results. The growth of students' motivation of secondary school to research in the conditions of sustainable development of society in four indicators (cognitive, self-development, citizenship, achievements) was recorded.
