Abstract:
The present paper describes an emotional competence program created to achieve the broader education of students in a Higher Education. In this way, Advanced Training Programme on Emotional Competence is a learning method that challenges university students to take content emotional competence and apply their new understanding by working cooperatively in groups to seek solutions to real world problems across e-learning context.

Emotional intelligence (EI) involves two important competencies to make career successful:
(1) the ability to recognise their own feelings and other people’s feelings and emotions, as well;
(2) the ability to use that information to resolve conflicts, problems, and improve interactions with other people.

Since the introduction of the Bologna process, the goal of a complete education is not only to teach technical skills but also other competences, such as team work, effective communication skills, project and time management and the ability to marshal our emotions in pursuit of that end. Nevertheless, learning EI involves significant time and effort on the part of students, and this may hinder the acquisition of specific content for each degree. However, the results show a higher level of satisfaction with this e-learning program and a broader recognition of the enormous benefits that emotional competence can bring in the personal development of university students.
