Abstract:
Information Technology and Communication plays a role in many social, professional and training activities of a human being in the twenty-first century. It is hard to imagine that life is possible without technology, especially computer in the modern era. Improving English language skills is one of the conditions that has a significant role in improving the quality of users’ performance in the process of working with computers. Given that the book "Work and Technology of the Seventh and Eighth Grade" has been recently taught in the country schools, and the bulk of the book's content is based on working with the computer, there is a need to strengthen students' English language which is the computer language. In this study, conducted with the participation of 325 students of 11 classrooms in Sepidar high school, Alborz, Qazvin Province; it was attempted to strengthen English language skill needed to work with the computer using action research approach in the form of three independent and relevant actions, including "English words fluently", "repeat and practice of words used in the computer" and "peer group formation and application in practice". Every action has a four-stage cycle of planning, action, observation and reflection and it was attempted to reduce the gap between current and desired status by students' participation and the use of verbal questions, observation and correspondence, and in order to analyze four levels of collected data in examining initial status of students and applied three actions, repeated measurement method was used. The findings showed that researchers' interventions have led to a significant increase in scores of the average performance of students in the three actions (p<0.05); The results showed that according to participatory action research approach a significant part of the gap can be improved.
