Abstract:
The Rey Juan Carlos University began during the academic course 2005/2006 the implementation of distance titles by launching a Learning Management System, allowing the current deployment of 11 degrees and 12 blended Official master's degree.

The initial impetus of the project allowed the URJC strategically positioned in some areas and qualifications.
A decade later, the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) has launched a new program of comprehensive improvement of the teaching that are developed through the Virtual Campus, and especially in the case of blended and distance learning degrees

In this paper we detail the process used to define this new strategy. This strategy has a functional framework that will adequately meet the objectives. Thus, we explain the major milestones of the action plan to be carried out in the period 2014-2016, and whose purpose is to improve the quality of education offered by the Rey Juan Carlos University in blended and distance modalities.

This strategy is defined by: a) an alignment with European and international initiatives; b) strengthening the brand URJC Online; c) the development of open educational practices, helping to increase the wealth of digital educational content available through open access; d) Develop emerging lines expand blended and online education offered through open training courses (MOOCs, SPOCs), RAC courses, specialization courses and qualification, etc.
