Abstract:
The success of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in manufacturing industries depends especially on innovative ability as well as flexibility in structures and processes. Therefore, they have to face several challenges to adapt on to the market’s demands, especially growing relevance of digitalization, control of technical manufacturing and automatization in production. In order to achieve effective and efficient production processes in times of digital transformation in manufacturing industries, the consideration and coverage of changes in competence requirements is essential.
An increasing number of tasks in manual assembly is processed by non-formal qualified employees who are underrepresented in measures of company based continuing vocational training. Therefore, employees need to be qualified in dealing with challenges of digital transformation. For this purpose, the presentation addresses the following research questions: How can objective requirements of work in digitalized production, individual requirements and qualifications of the employees be described? How can a didactic concept for company based continuing vocational training in manual assembly be formed, realized and evaluated for a practice-oriented development of competences of the mentioned target group? How can basic digital competences be developed by producing learning media? Within the presentation, the generated concept with the use of authoring systems will be presented. It’s based on relevant specific working and learning processes of SME in manufacturing industries. The participants have to describe and analyze these processes by producing videobased learning tutorials. These tutorials enable employees to become acquainted with new or complex and digitalized processes in manual assembly in an innovative und quick way. Thus, learners become authors of learning material: they analyze and reflect their working processes and log all parts of particular processes within a film script. On the basis of written scripts and with the aid of iPads, employees of the mentioned target group develop tutorials for these processes. The learners will edit the filmed processes and store them in knowledge management systems for training of further and new employees.
Hence, the authoring systems concept for work process-oriented competence development makes an important contribution for support, maintenance and transfer of knowledge and competences in production, pre-eminently for manual assembly. Keywords:
