Abstract:
In this article the formation of the future guide-interpreter’s linguistic professional competence is considered as the pedagogically conditioned and controlled process. The article presents the interpretation of the linguistic professional competence as a complex phenomenon. The quality of its development is determined by a number of factors including the language abilities of students; the level of their motivation to learn a foreign language; the contents of the tasks aimed at the formation of the linguistic professional competence; forms, methods and means of the formation of this type of competence; the nature of diagnostic procedures aimed at the determination of the level of development of the linguistic professional competence. Thus, in the given article the effectiveness of the formation of the future guide-interpreter’s linguistic professional competence is substantiated from the point of view of the competent use of lexical, grammatical and stylistic norms of a foreign language (in this case English) by future specialists. Moreover, the latter should take into consideration the professional situation for productive interaction with foreign tourists.
