Abstract:
E learning, E library, training on new technologies, development of management information systems and information infrastructure networks are five subprojects that have begun since 2004. The Egyptian government has a strategy for developing the Egyptian higher education to adapt to global challenges and contribute to social and economic development in the Egyptian society. One of the thrusts of this strategy is: to promote the technological infrastructure for the Egyptian public universities. Accordingly, he established the project of development information systems and technology in 2004. Under this project, there are five previous subprojects. Our current study target to know the reforms of infrastructure technology in the Egyptian public universities through to review the project and its goals, knowing how much the project achieves its goals? What are the difficulties facing the project? What are the solutions to these problems? To answer these questions, it must first deal with the phenomenon of globalization, its relation with the technology, then analyze this project. The method of our study is: review documentation, analysis the reports of the progress of the project through their stages (2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011) and the content analysis of sites of Egyptian universities to make sure from some achievements of ICTP. Our study showed that Egypt has achieved a success in that way but it has not yet reached the level required, and we need to spread awareness among the society of staffs and students to know how they benefit of this project. We also need to raise the number of courses on these new technologies and others results.
