Abstract:
The preparation of materials and assignments requires more time for the course at the university than paid courses to maintain the attractiveness and the demands of repetition and sharing of information between students. Cybersecurity training also requires the constant development of the teaching model to cover increasingly modern and sophisticated attacks in the real world. Nowadays, specific scenarios are created for each vulnerability and attack, and most challenges focus on capture-the-flag (CTF) exercises. Creating a complex virtual environment is often challenging for lectors regarding the time needed for preparation and the water needs of individual knowledge and skills in creating and configuring such an environment. The main aims of this work are to design and implement a comprehensive modeling system and create and subsequent central management of the network, i.e., part of the virtual environment using a web application. Our focus is on providing a simplified graphical user interface for performing individual activities in virtualization, control, and collection of information from the virtualized environment. Subsequently, we deployed the proposed solution and tested its functionality. Because of that, we can say that it meets the requirements and is suitable for usage in longer-term experiments within the teaching process.
