Abstract:
Developing Countries have achieved outstanding improvements in education for national development, however there are a number of challenges to overcome in order to create universal quality skilled work force to cater the needs of the country at global level. Globalization in education has led new programmes have been established, including short courses leading to certificates, diploma courses, and open and distance learning programmes. Use of Information Communication and Technology in higher education has the potential to increase access and efficiency in program delivery with quality. However, without a proper framework, they can carry adverse effects especially on quality and delivery. The response to these and related challenges in developing countries has been greater regional and international partnership/collaboration and public and private partnerships and integration of technologies. The outline of this paper is to analyze ICT up take in higher education that intends to accomplish global model work force with universal quality education.
