Abstract:
From the peace negotiations that took place between the Colombian State and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia's People's Army (FARC-EP), from 2012 to 2016, the government of the then president, Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, promulgated Law 1732 of 2014 and Decree 1038 of 2015, through which it established the mandatory implementation of the Chair of Peace in all educational establishments in Colombia. The chair is based on constructivism, understanding that the teaching of peace must be an experiential experience, where students and teachers are called to transform society.
The District of Bogotá, capital of Colombia, where the investigation of which this paper reports is framed. It is the largest city in the country and one of the cities that has received the most displaced population victims of the armed conflict. This situation makes the implementation of the chair opportune, to promote environments of dialogue and coexistence from where the construction of a culture of peace is possible. In this dynamic, the 19th locality of the District of Bogotá, is a scenario marked by the violence caused by gangs and groups of recruitment of minors, where it is propitious to review the results that the implementation of peace has left.
For this reason, the research presented in this paper, derived from the research project "Construction of peace and citizenship from the implementation of the Chair of Peace in the town of Ciudad Bolívar in the District of Bogotá", sought to characterize the learning that has left the implementation of the Chair of Peace in the educational institutions of the Ciudad Bolívar locality. For this, framed in the qualitative approach, assuming a phenomenological perspective, it used for the collection of information, open surveys and interviews in focus groups, applied to eleventh grade students of two educational institutions in the Ciudad Bolívar locality: the Educational Institution Arborizadora Alta District School and the Santa Barbara School District Educational Institution.
The collection of the information, evidenced through the surveys that the students have a superficial knowledge of the Chair of Peace, its components and application mechanisms. The foregoing derives mainly from the way in which the chair has been implemented, because its content was articulated to the development of the area of social sciences, one of the most extensive areas of knowledge in the curriculum. In the same way, through the interviews in focus groups, it was possible to deepen the learning that the students have achieved. Through the information collected, it was possible to ratify the findings of the surveys and it was known in greater detail that, although the students do not show consistent knowledge about the chair of peace, they do highlight the value that this type of proposal can have. in the development of their locality and the country.
Based on the results, it can be concluded that the students have not reached a deep learning about the chair of peace, which enriches their training and develops in them new attitudes promoting a culture of peace. Therefore, it is necessary that the Arborizadora Alta School District Educational Institution and the Santa Barbara School District Educational Institution. review the curricular proposals that are being followed to develop the Chair of Peace.
