Abstract:
We discover an innovative methodology that adapts different materials and new technologies appropriate for the teaching of statistical methods, maximizing study time.

We make a great effort creating educational materials and interactive methods using the most innovative teaching techniques to facilitate the learning process and improve academic performance. This results in tremendous learning momentum for each student and increases their confidence in statistical concepts.

The practice presented in this paper is focused on creating, developing and working on applications, which help us transmitting information with a great saving of time. More concretely, it was presented to Physiotherapy Studies students, from the University of Almeria (Spain).

The applicable statistical methods are a fundamental subject of great relevance in many research studies. The practical experience for statistical learning is about comparison analysis of shoulder injuries in handball and volleyball players that provides students real-life experiences. In order to extract conclusions, the data collection is performed by the use of a questionnaire, the measurement of both qualitative and quantitative variables and the choice of a suitable experimental procedure, are taken into account.

The proposed practical experience has been of great interest to the students, the results have been very revealing and the students have learned at a pace that’s right for them. It is shown as powerful, effective, active and practical methodology that forms a significant influence on student learning. This methodology has boosted student engagement and class pass rates have also risen, lifting academic performance. Students are presented with their progress and performance, helping to boost confidence and motivation. An experience to attract and engage all students and ensure that have truly mastered and retained concepts presented.

All the results have been carried out using the statistical package "SPSS" and the outputs have been shown and interpreted to pupils with the PowerPoint program.
