Abstract:
In an international context where society demands a competent professional who can face the constant challenges of the environment, new paradigms are established at the international level. Higher education needs better training in skills. The present study aims to investigate at an international level the opinion of employers regarding the essential criteria to measure satisfaction with the professional performance of graduates. The main results show that employers are generally satisfied with the specific job skills of graduates, but they attach greater importance to the transversal competencies they have developed, valuing their interpersonal skills, experience and ability as the perfect complement for a successful performance. The aim of the university is to form integral professionals whose profiles by competencies must respond to the demand of the labor, business, productivity and social market. The results of the studies that have been done show a gap between what employers consider most important in terms of skills, knowledge and attributes of recent graduates and their satisfaction. Some of the key areas identified where such gaps exist are communication, work organization and effective time management, willingness to confront and learn from mistakes, ability to establish and justify priorities, their adaptability and willingness to listen to different points of view before making a decisionKeywords:
