Abstract:
In today's modern world, people cannot live without technology such as smartphones, computers, tablets, smart TVs, among others. These technologies have slowly taken an essential part in people's lives.
This study describes how Mexico is facing the most important technological challenge in the field of education, since integrating new technologies in the classroom, and it is becoming more relevant with the COVID-19 pandemic. Introducing Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education can be a powerful tool to increase students' knowledge.
However, the technological solution is not real if it lacks a pedagogical background. If schools and universities do not have an educational model that gives context and meaning, it will represent a great disadvantage, and that is why we should do a specific analysis.
For this research, the data has been obtained from a deeper analysis of earlier research works and surveys made to students and teachers of higher education.
Gaps are often found between the expectations of students and the readiness of teachers to give appropriate lessons in the educative sector. Besides that, unfortunately, not many schools in Mexico can offer a complete virtual academic experience due to the lack of internet connectivity in isolated parts of the country.
