Abstract:
Today, we are immersed in the knowledge society. Information creates quickly and becomes obsolete even faster. For this reason, it seems necessary to be able to search for information, select it, process it and interpret it to generate the knowledge that allows us to resolve the situations that could arise. In this sense, we are talking about competency-based learning. At Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), the evaluation of competences begins in year 2015. This project primarily involves a systematic assessment strategy of a set of 13 transversal competences to be acquired by all the UPV degree and master students. The programme has been implemented across the 3 UPV Campuses, this is, Vera, Gandía and Alcoy. This paper pursues to get an overview of the UPV transversal competences assessment scheme regarding the Business Administration degree at Alcoy Campus.

This paper is written by teachers who conduct their classes in different areas of expertise such as: Applied Economics; Financial Economics and Accounting; Applied Mathematics and Business Administration. The aim of this work is to find out about the students’ and teachers’ perceptions of the transversal competences by means of two questionnaires. While the first questionnaire is addressed to the degree students, the second questionnaire is intended for teachers involved in the competence assessment scheme. Thus, the core of the present work is the students’ and teachers’ perspectives on the main aspects comprising the assessment program. In this work, the questionnaire results will be shown.
