Abstract:
The current structural reform in which is immersed the University of the European Higher Education involves the assumption of new roles among teachers as it is, among others, the Coordinator, either of the degree, of a course, or even of subject, in some degrees.
Assuming the need for coordination of teachers involves a change of university culture: moving from a culture very rooted in individualism to a culture based on the coordination of teaching as a shared responsibility. Coordination must be assumed as a challenging task, not oppressive, which represents an element of improving the educational task.
The coordination requires that all teachers of a qualification act as a faculty, that is, as a group of teachers who have a common goal: to train graduates in the conditions established in the degree project, which will work together, collaboratively and harmoniously to achieve quality teaching.
This paper analyzes the experiences of teaching coordination in different subjects of Engineering in Computer Science, Multimedia and Audiovisual School of Engineering Technology within the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alicante. Exchange of experience of the coordinators of various subjects serves to draw important conclusions to improve the set of qualifications and detect differences and similarities between the different degrees to allow better coordination of all degrees. Work are discussed in various levels of coordination, both internally in the different groups for each subject, as between the different subjects of the same title and even among similar subjects in different degrees. The use of virtual management tools working groups is of great interest to all levels of coordination..
