Abstract:
How can we assess the level of digital teaching competence after having fully worked in an online scenario without any prior foresight.

We take advantage of the unusual confinement stage to assess how high school teachers develop in classes and virtual monitoring of students.

The work carried out during these months has made the training and technical needs of teachers more evident. For this reason we analyze their digital competence, evaluate how they have done their job and propose new training measures, learning tools and assess their ability to invent, create and evaluate online.

All this in order to improve the relationship between teachers and students and provide teachers with strategies to deal with new stages and changing stages throughout the teaching process.

We perform this analysis in 5 secondary schools in the east of the island of Mallorca. We have a sample of 500 teachers. We use the digcompedu questionnaire as a tool and add items to assess confinement time.

We will be able to compare the differences between the different centers and between the different educational levels. Taking into account the particularity of each center and the diversity of its students.

The results can give management teams real and up-to-date information on the needs of their faculty, knowledge of applications, networking, working with other teachers ...

And we draw conclusions for the improvement of online learning, digital issues and value digital teaching competence.
