Abstract:
Today, social networks (eg., facebook.com, twitter.com, vk.com, ok.ru, etc.) are a significant fragment of virtual reality, representing a large-scale platform for comprehensive interpersonal and professional communication and satisfying the needs of the modern value-marked individual. In addition, social communities act as a means of exchange and transfer of scientific and everyday knowledge, and therefore a full-fledged educational resource.

The article examines the educational potential of the linguistic instablog @great_russian. This is the first and practically unparalleled blog dedicated to the analysis of difficult topics and rules of the Russian language, which will be interesting and useful for both native Russian speakers and foreigners who study Russian. Currently, over 500 thousand network users have subscribed to it. The authors of the article analyze the content of blog posts, relevant to current issues of modern linguistics, gaming technology and linguistic presentation principles (Edutainment format), posts of assignments and surveys. All mentioned above stimulate subscribers' interest in the Russian language and creative knowledge, promote literacy.
