Abstract:
The use of audiovisual methodology in the scope of the Teaching of Foreign Languages has been considerably developed in the last years. The success of the implementation of new technologies helped the students understand and acquire the language easily. Amongst new technologies one can find films as tools of language skills development. A combination of activities related to the movie which tackle the grammatical content of the lesson achieves the teaching purposes more effectively than following a text or grammar book in which the students are supposed to perform never-ending drill activities.
However, the syllabus of several institutions does not allow the teacher implement effectively such lesson plans, mainly due to the lack of time. Nevertheless, one of the reasons why the goal of implementing films in the class is not achieved is due to the length of the production.
Short-films are easier to study due to the extension and lesson plans are more likely to be briefly and more effectively developed. This is why this paper aims to present and defend study cases of short-films that have been successfully applied in Spanish lessons. Keywords:
