Abstract:
This article examines the possibilities of using modern computer programmes such as Praat, Speech Analyzer, Goldwave in practical lessons on Russian phonetics at the stage of linguistic improvement. The most popular non-professional speech analysis software has been analysed. The main features that contribute to their effective application in a foreign language audience have been identified. The comparative analysis of the created computer programmes on Phonetics of the Russian language was under the observation (the training programme «Kalinka» by U G. Ovsienko, 1993, the computer course «Russian from the very beginning» by T. E. Vladimirova, V.L. Ivanov, M.M. Nakhabin, 1998; Electronic Introductory-Phonetic Course by A.L. Arkhangelskaya) and others.

Experience of working with students who speak Russian at the level of A2-B1, and who have started learning Russian with non-native teachers of Russian as a foreign language in educational institutions outside of the Russian Federation is described in this paper. The traditional view is that the use of computer-based tools can optimize the learning process, increase the motivation of students and, in some cases, shorten the learning time. However, the development of a full-fledged computer programmes requires a lot of material and time, the participation of teachers, methodists, programmers and other specialists.

But the above is possible when learning the Vocabulary and Grammar of Russian. Teaching the pronunciation part of the Russian language differs in methods and implementation.

It is concluded that the focus of the concept (usage of oscillograms, sounds, graphics, etc.), makes it possible to activate and optimize the learning process, applying simplicity in use, without using any traditional textbooks. The possibility of quick affective learning in short courses explains the importance of computer programmes of speech analysis, such as Praat, Speech Analyzer, Goldwave, in teaching Russian as a foreign language.
