Abstract:
In this paper we present a practical example of the implementation of a creative teaching methodology for students in their first year of University.
We have developed a set of interactive models by means of GeoGebra's geometric and algebraic treatment software. These models have been successfully applied on the practical module of the subject Economics of the first year of the degree on Industrial Engineering of the University of Valladolid (Spain).
As in most practical modules in undergraduate courses, the study plan includes lab sessions in which students can apply the technical skills they learn within the theoretical lectures. However, what makes our methodology a novelty is the dynamism and the interactivity of the learning tools that we have developed. We have received positive feedback both from students and instructors.
In the final version of the paper, we will explain how we developed this creative teaching methodology and the lessons we have learnt since we began to implement it. Keywords:
Geogebra, Microeconomics, Decision Models, Games.
