Abstract:
The article is devoted to one of the most urgent problems of modern pedagogy – the specifics of gifted students' education. The urgency of the problem under investigation is demonstrated by the fact that the issue of identification and development of gifted students is regarded as one of the most important aspects worldwide. The purpose of the article is to reveal the modern international approaches to gifted students’ identification and development and apply them for the Russian education system. The information was collected from literature, newspapers, Internet and by logical analysis of regulatory documents of foreign governments and research papers of leading scientists dealing with gifted education issues. The leading approach in the study of this problem is the systematic methodological principle, which allows us to take into account a variety of factors and to exclude one-sidedness. The main result of the study is the systematization of areas of gifted students’ identification and development in different countries. Different pedagogical innovations have been analyzed to be applied for the Russian national education system. The materials of the article can be used in different researches and will be interesting for a wide range of readers dealing with the problems of teacher training for work with gifted students.
