Abstract:
The use of new information and communication technologies has changed the way people interact, and has extended direct application resources in university teaching. The use of these resources by students should ensure better access to information, facilitate cooperative work, improve communication with teachers and make the process of delivery and correction of work more dynamic. Therefore it is a topic of great interest to consider in the process of continuous improvement of education in the new European Higher Education Area framework.
However, the use of these resources is not always appropriate because, in highly practical subjects, many of the most popular online resources are not effective, and the development of new ones would be necessary.
This article analyses the most common uses of the Virtual Classroom online platform by the students of the Artistic Expression I course, of the Degree in Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering taught at the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón. Checking input frequency, the most consulted information items and the use of virtual tutorials will allow us to learn students’ real needs with a view to improving the practice of artistic drawing, while also allowing us know how to design new more specific tools and to incorporate them into online platforms. Keywords:
