Abstract:
Online education is gaining popularity due to the benefits and accessibility it offers to learners. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) are utilized to provide content across various disciplines. However, efficiently managing and organizing the information and resources within MOOCs is a significant challenge due to the complexity and large volume of data involved. Addressing this challenge requires the development of a specific ontology for MOOCs. In the context of MOOCs, an ontology offers a clear and coherent structure for organizing courses, modules, lessons, educational resources, participants, and their interactions. By precisely defining these elements and their relationships, the ontology supports interoperability between different MOOC platforms, enhances access to educational resources, and facilitates the analysis and reporting of educational data. Our work aims to define the key concepts and relationships within the context of MOOCs, enabling efficient search and access to educational information, thereby improving user experience. It ensures compatibility between various platforms and educational systems, facilitates the exchange and reuse of resources, and supports the collection and analysis of educational data, providing valuable insights for improving the quality of education.
