Abstract:
Using the video data to realize the synchronized presentations SMIL, within the e-learning platforms requires efficient management thereof, and the use of specific resources offered by SMIL language. Often at presentation is the need to use or reuse the pieces or fragments of content called LO (Learning Object). The use of ontologies in the field of e-learning, semantic annotation allow content analysis, recognition of the concepts and relationships between them, will increase the accuracy of search and retrieval of video content and reuse it. In this context the MPEG-7 provides the advantage of description and retrieves video content, based on ontology. Due to the fact that SMIL language is a XML language, presentations can easily integrate other types of XML documents, so the MPEG-7 documents. The paper proposes a framework that uses the MPEG-7 standard, to provide the tools for semantic annotation of video content and integrating them into the SMIL language.
