Abstract:
One of the main tasks of the Consejo Técnico Asesor Docente (COTAD) of the Faculty of Fine Arts (Universidad Politécnica de Valencia- UPV) is to promote the educational change towards the European convergence in order to ensure the quality of education. This virtual presentation deals with one of the key activities developed for that purpose: the Integra Program, an institutional initiative in collaboration with the Institute of Education Sciences of the UPV.
Given the premises of Real Decreto 1393/2007, section 4.3 (Annex I) where the support and guidance of students once enrolled in the University is demanded, the purpose of the Integra Program is to facilitate the adaptation of students to the University. As part of that program, the COTAD develops three specific actions:
•Reception Day (a series of briefings at the beginning of the course that are the first contact of the new students with the faculty and are intended to encourage their integration by offering lectures on aspects regarding they academic life: how the university, centers and departments work, the study plans...etc.)
•Tutorial Program (a teacher and/or student act as tutors and whose mission is to advice them in their adaptation process during the first year).
•Integra Tutorial Seminars (where part of the faculty develops a set of complementary contents to those they will study in the forthcoming years such as the development of the portfolio, health safety in art labs etc.).
