Abstract:
Today's globalised world places high demands on the expertise and skills of those who hold leadership positions in all kinds of organisations. It is the skills and competence of management in the internal structure of organisations that is one of the decisive factors for their prosperity and long-term development. The current dramatic changes in the external and internal environment of organisations bring new challenges for managers, which require a specific approach to lifelong learning opportunities for these individuals. Global developments in recent years have brought a series of crises which have created a multitude of risks but also opportunities for organisations. One of the sectors that has been significantly affected by these crises has been the sport and sports business sector. Many of the risks stemmed from the global pandemic, which made it impossible to organise sporting events and to carry out sporting activities. The economic impact caused an economic recession and brought an increase in operating costs. The war in Ukraine has increased energy prices and caused political obstacles to the involvement of athletes. Fiscal policy also plays an important role in this area, affecting the funding of sports clubs.
Given the current situation, there is an acute need to find ways to provide managers with adequate training to deal with these influences and factors. Therefore, the main objective is to propose a framework for effective training and education of sports club managers in risk management. The training of managers will mainly focus on mastering the proper implementation of a risk management system that can provide the organization with effective tools. Through an effective system of formal training, it will thus be possible to increase the competence and ability of managers to respond to the current needs of organisations in the sports sector but also in other areas of business.
To achieve the stated objectives, empirical research methods will be used, in particular observation, inquiry and structured interviews focusing on the internal and external environments of sport organisations. Collaboration with experts as well as the study of literature and publications will be key in this phase. The subsequent application of analytical methods and scientific synthesis will be used to identify the main elements in the structure of organisations with a direct impact on the successful application of risk management. The outcome will be a comprehensive knowledge base on the functioning of sports clubs with regard to the identification of the dominant influences of the industry. By formulating sub-conclusions, the main areas of the sports industry that will need to be emphasised in the risk management education process will be identified. Subsequently, based on the previous findings, ways of incorporating practical risk management education into manager training will be identified and formulated, from which the proposed framework will be developed.
The main contribution of the research will be the design of new ways of educating sport managers in the field of risk management and their application for the sustainable development of organizations. Through this, it will be possible to improve managers' competencies and abilities to respond effectively to current and future challenges and thus effectively reduce the adverse impact of crises on the functioning of organisations. Keywords:
