Abstract:
In Japan now, an evaluation of the elementary school English activities should be performed not by numerical value, but by description of the sentences (MEXT, 2010). I tried to do evaluation by “the description of the sentences” with a PC fairly, objectively, and simply and introduced the results(K.FUKUCHI, 2012). In addition to the present evaluation by “the description of the sentences”, when the pleasant numerical evaluation is carried out in a Role Playing Game (RPG)-game, the evaluation must be done more objectively and fairly.

Children enjoy communicating with others in a RPG Game, and do not feel they are doing a test. In this process the game can measure how well children understand the communication, and the numerical evaluation will be a part of the activities that children enjoy and further be motivated. Using the paper-based RPG, prior to the PC-RPG game, the awareness of children to the numerical evaluation is investigated.

The English activity as "compulsory education" in all elementary schools of Japan started in 2011. Education Reconstruction Commission was held and the report on elementary school English education was announced (2013). According to the report, they refer to the possibility that English is taught as a subject. This means the numerical evaluation can be performed. Then, enjoying RPG-Games, children=game players=heroes of the games will measure their skills as the pleasant numerical evaluation aggressively and this may lead to an attitude of self-learning and self-evaluation.
